Kate Garraway fears being 'a bit too honest' in new book but says she doesn't want to sugar coat it

Kate Garraway has spoken of her fears that she may have been 'a bit too honest' in her new book, which explores the impact of trauma.

The Good Morning Britain host has released The Strength of Love, which also focuses on the 'importance of resilience, adaptability, curiosity and positivity when recovering from it' The radio and television presenter's book comes after Kate and her family's world was turned upside down when her husband Derek Draper was left with long-term devastating effects after contracting Covid in March 2020.

Kate has been caring for her husband ever since. Kate spoke about her fears with Capital Breakfast host Roman Kemp. Roman asked: "You've spoken about how much of a challenge your life has been, I mean to just to look after Derek, your husband.

To which Kate replied: "Yes, it is and it maybe a little bit too honest, I do worry about that now that it's come out because I thought, I can't sugar-coat this because that's doing a disservice to all the millions of people who are dealing with either having a long term illness themselves, or a caring for someone that has a long term illness, and if you try and pretend it's all cupcakes and unicorns then I think that's going to make them feel worse.
