Kate Garraway expressed concern for her Good Morning Britain colleague as they headed out in the downpours to report live on Storm Babet.
The adverse weather is the latest in a long line of storms that have battered the UK over the past few years. Parts of the UK can expect wet and windy weather on Friday (October 20) with Amber warnings issued for parts of northern England, the Midlands and northern Wales from noon on Friday to 6am on Saturday (October 21).
A yellow warning for Northern Ireland is also in place from 3am on Friday to 9am on Saturday. Hosting GMB on Friday, Kate and her co-host Ben Shephard appeared live from the London-based studio while they had reporters out and about bringing viewers the latest on the weather. One of those reporting live from location, ITV reporter Nitya Rajan told Kate and Ben: "It's very, very stormy for lots of the country and certainly where I am" as she battled the weather elements at Whitley Bay.
