This Morning bosses are reportedly in talks to replace Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield with Good Morning Britain's hosts Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard.

Holly, 42, quit This Morning last week after 14 years of presenting the breakfast chat show. Her departure comes five months after her former pal Phil, 61, left the 'show he loved' after admitting to an 'unwise but not illegal' scandalous affair with a younger male colleague. There has been growing speculation surrounding who will be next to take the reins of the award-winning ITV show with hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary gaining praise from viewers. However, it's now been reported that ITV is considering bringing in 'perfect' combination Kate and Ben from GMB, the Mirror reports.Ben, 48, has already presented This Morning alongside Holly in the past while Kate, 56, is a seasoned journalist, impressing viewers with shows including her own Kate Garraway's Life Stories.

Speaking about the idea of the pair fronting This Morning together, a source said: "Ben and Kate are adored by the public when they host together.

Fans love them. "While the bosses love Alison Hammond and Josie Gibson, they know they need someone more heavyweight. Kate is a journalist yet is also funny and warm."ITV's head of daytime Emma Gormley has reportedly been given the task of finding the new team.
