Jermaine Jenas has broken his silence about the circumstances that led to his sacking by the BBC, saying he is "so so sorry" and has "lost everything".The former One Show host insisted he didn't do anything illegal, but admitted he did "consider it cheating".
It was announced this week that the former professional footballer had been axed from The One Show and Match of the Day following a report of alleged 'inappropriate behaviour' in the workplace.
In its official statement yesterday (Thursday, August 22), the BBC confirmed to OK! "that he is no longer part of our presenting line up." In his first interview since the scandal came out, the 41-year-old married dad of four admitted he was "ashamed" of his behaviour but said it involved "two consenting adults". "I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology — especially the women with whom I was messaging.
I am so, so sorry," he told The Scottish Sun. He went on to reveal that he had been contacting more than one woman, but insisted he did nothing illegal and denied sending anything sexually explicit. "These were two consenting adults I was speaking to," he said. "With one she made it clear she was interested.
