Janelle Monáe has shared the details of her first new album in five years. The Age of Pleasure, the long-awaited follow-up to 2018’s Dirty Computer, is due out June 9 via Monáe’s own Wondaland Arts Society and Atlantic Records.
To celebrate the news, she’s shared the forthcoming project’s lead single, “Lipstick Lover,” which joins the pre-announcement offering “Float” (feat.
Seun Kuti and Egypt 80) on the record’s tracklist. The new song — a blissed-out, dub-inspired ode to sloppy kissing — arrives alongside a steamy visual treatment co-directed by Monáe and Alan Ferguson.
It contains a bit of blurred nudity and is therefore age restricted, meaning it can only be watched on YouTube. Check out The Age of Pleasure’s cover art and tracklist below.
