Jamie Carragher has blasted Andre Onana for angrily confronting a 'broken' Harry Maguire during pre-season. The Manchester United goalkeeper reacted furiously during the 3-2 pre-season defeat against Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas after Maguire's loss of possession led to a shot on his goal.
After the game, Onana explained how he holds all of his teammates to the highest standards but his actions got a mixed reception.
Maguire has been in the headlines again during the international break after scoring an own-goal during England's 3-1 win over Scotland.
The 30-year-old has suffered a barrage of abuse online and was also mocked by the Hampden Park crowd during the game. "But to carry on like that in a pre season game when you’ve been at the club two minutes, to the club captain, was way over the top. "Any player worth their salt (Keane, Vidic, Rio, Stam…and me!) would have told him where to go and to get back in his goal.
