A gunman accused of planning a 'Dunblane-style' massacre has told a court it was 'just a fantasy.' Reed Wischhusen, 32, told his trial he had no intention of actually enacting the chilling 'revenge' death-list that was discovered by cops at this home - alongside his arsenal of weapons. The defendant, giving evidence today, said his sole intention was to commit suicide when armed police turned up at his home.
He told the court he only ran at cops while pointing his gun at them as he had felt 'trapped' after failing to take his own life when shooting himself in the head. And he said - by appearing as a threat - he wanted them to "finish the job" for him.
Bristol Crown Court heard police visited his home in Wick St Lawrence, near Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, on 28 November last year following intelligence he had purchased blank weapons capable of being converted into viable firearms.During the visit, Wischhusen excused himself to use the upstairs bathroom and told the jury his intention was to take his own life.
The defendant survived who was shot three times by armed police as he pointed a gun at them, spent four months in hospital recovering from his injuries. He told the court today: "I shot myself in the bathroom in the head.
