Star Wars and Star Trek alum J. J. Abrams is set for the Cinema Audio Society‘s 2024 Filmmaker Award. The Lost double Emmy winner will be honored during the 60th anniversary CAS Awards on March 2 at the Beverly Hilton.
The sci-fi and genre veteran and Bad Robot co-CEO’s films include two Star Wars and Star Trek titles along with Mission: Impossible III and Cloverfield.
Among the 10-time Emmy nominee’s small-screen credits are Felicity, Alias, Lost, Castle Rock, Westworld, Lovecraft Country and the upcoming series Duster and Presumed Innocent. “There are no doubt aspects of the filmmaking process as important as that of sound, but there is nothing more important,” Abrams said. “I have been incredibly lucky to collaborate with some of the best production and post production sound teams in the business, and I’m grateful every day — as filmmaker and moviegoer — for their remarkable artistry and skill.
