A Greater Manchester hospital trust has issued a warning to patients with its A&E department under pressure. Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the Royal Bolton Hospital, told patients it was experiencing 'very high levels of activity' last night (September 11).
The trust moved to reassure people that the 'most seriously ill and injured patients' would be seen immediately. But other patients were being urged to find alternative places for care and treatment while the hospital deals with the strain.
A spokesperson for Bolton NHS Foundation Trust said: "Our Emergency Department is currently experiencing very high levels of activity.
No matter how busy our Emergency Department is, the most seriously ill and injured patients will always be seen immediately.
