Transport bosses have apologised for some delays on buses on the first working day of the Bee Network caused by 'operational issues'.

Yesterday (Sunday), the first franchised buses in Greater Manchester since 1986 rolled out across Wigan, Bolton, and some parts of Salford and Bury under the network.

175 services went live as part of the plan for a London-style integrated transport system over bus, tram and eventually, train with a one-ticket fits all approach.

The rollout yesterday was the first of three phases, with a second stage due to go live in March next year. This morning (Monday), on the first working day of the Bee Network, the fleet of distinctive yellow bee-adorned buses have been spotted being used by passengers on the city-region's roads.
