Holidaymakers have been warned that they could be subjected to scams when renting out a car abroad. A covert investigation from Which?

revealed that some holiday car rental firms rip off customers through underhanded tactics to sell unnecessary insurance. The investigation focused on popular holiday spots in Spain and uncovered a variety of issues tourists face when hiring cars.

As a result, Independent Advisor highlighted some of the potential scams tourists could face. It also provided some top tips to help people avoid said scams so they can enjoy their holiday without any unnecessary issues.

Connor Campbell, expert at Independent Advisor Car Insurance, said: “Like everything in travel, car rental rates vary dramatically depending on supply and demand; in the short run, supply is fixed, while demand is highly volatile.
