Hero shop workers save man's life after terrifying cardiac arrest

A man who suffered a heart attack in his local farm shop has thanked hero shop workers for saving his life. Robert Kingdon, from Kirkcaldy, says he "would be dead" if it wasn't for the quick actions of Yvonne Clark and Ally Wilson at Grow Wild Organics in Linlithgow.The 67-year-old was on his usual weekly visit to Boonytoun Farm on August 22, where he has been a customer for many years.Yvonne was speaking to Robert when he began swaying and suddenly collapsed.

She shouted for help from Ally who immediately rang 999 before she started performing CPR on Robert when he turned a horrific shade of purple.Despite the terrifying scene, Yvonne and Ally battled to keep Robert's heart going until paramedics arrived with a defibrillator.Robert said: "Without a doubt, they saved my life.

My heart stopped and if it happened a few minutes earlier or later, I would have been driving and wouldn't have stood a chance."If you can be revived within five minutes of a heart attack you stand a good chance of making a good recovery and Yvonne and Ally kept my breathing and circulation going.
