A Manchester dad-of-two claims he was forced to queue on the Benidorm strip for a hotel room 1,500 miles from his intended destination after Jet2 diverted his flight TWICE.

The man, who asked not to be named, boarded flight LS981 from Manchester to Lanzarote on Saturday (October 21) with his wife and two children.

However, while approaching the island, passengers were told they were being diverted 30 minutes south to Tenerife due to 'unforeseen operational difficulties'.

After a successful landing in Tenerife, the passenger claims they were then told they would have to fly a further three hours to Alicante where they would stay overnight.
