Fire crews tackled blaze at a car dealership in Greater Manchester. The incident involved a car fire on the ground floor of the commercial garage at the Greengate Industrial Estate in Middleton.

Three fire engines attended the scene following reports of a fire at the Pentagon Vauxhall dealership in Greenside Way at around 7.30pm on Friday (October 6).

Firefighters extinguished the flames and made sure the area was safe before leaving the site two hours later. The Manchester Evening News understands that some bookings at the garage have been cancelled today (October 7).

A member of staff at the Pentagon Group confirmed a fire took place at the Middleton branch, but did not provide further details. READ MORE: Man crushed by falling digger left with 'potentially life-changing' injuries READ MORE: Boy, 16, hit by police car escapes with minor injuries A Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “At around 7:30pm yesterday evening (Friday, October 6), firefighters were called to reports of a fire at a commercial premises in Middleton. “Three fire engines from Chadderton, Heywood and Hollins fire stations quickly attended the scene, which involved a car fire on the ground floor of a commercial garage. “Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire and make the area safe before leaving at around 9:30pm.” The Pentagon Group has been contacted for comment.
