Heart patient slams food and cleanliness at 'disgusting' Lanarkshire hospitals

A woman admitted to two Lanarkshire hospitals for heart treatment has claimed she was kept on a “dirty” ward and given “disgusting” meals.

Catherine Murphy, of Airdrie, took pictures of some of the food served up to her in Monklands Hospital, such as shepherd’s pie and macaroni cheese, which she described as “slop”.

The shocked 54-year-old said she had to order in her own meals and believes no heart patient should have been served the dishes offered at the Airdrie hospital.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
