GB news presenter, Pip Tomson, has spoken out about ‘intolerant people’ as she gives her reason for quitting breakfast show, Good Morning Britain. The 45-year-old news correspondent quit her role after ten years at Good Morning Britain in May this year to announce she was joining a rival team at GB news.

In her leaving announcement, Pip said she was "proud to work on such a great forward-thinking show." "I’ll miss the awesome team terribly," she added. "But you know when it’s time for a new adventure – and it’s my time." On Pip’s final show, Kate Garraway and Ben Shephard wished her luck in her new role.

Ben said: "We just want to say goodbye to one of the team who is leaving us.The amazing Pip Tomson." Kate went onto add: "Pip we are really going to miss you, but we are excited for your new adventures. "You’re going to be a huge loss to the team here, and me personally." Pip has been at ITV long before then as well having worked on GMTV and Daybreak.

When explaining her move to the other channel Pip said she was ‘in a bit of a pickle’ having spent the "bulk of my 21-year television career at ITV." But Pip stated in her GB news profile that she’s "relishing the opportunity to challenge and hold to account the powerful types and offer a voice to those who want to be heard but are thoroughly disillusioned so don’t bother to engage." Writing on Twitter, Pip revealed she’d had some "polite (and less polite) questions" about her reason to leave GMB and decided to clear them up.
