Further roads chaos as Scotland continues to battle fallout from rainstorms

Scotland continues to deal with the effects of the weekend's rainstorms, after more heavy rainfall this afternoon caused further chaos - as a man was photographed canoeing down the street in Glasgow.

The Met Office issued an amber weather warning for rain until 2pm for the North East, with the areas likely to be affected including Angus, Tayside, Aberdeenshire, Moray and the Highlands.

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) also issued a severe flood warning alert for the Aviemore/Dalfaber area, with a yellow warning in place for rain for large parts of central and northern Scotland. The extra downpours led to Countesswells Road in Aberdeen having to be closed due to flooding., with Police Scotland urging motorists "to seek alternative routes".

The force added: "If you travel in these areas, you are likely to experience disruption.
