Skeletal remains found at home in search for woman missing for six years as man arrested

Skeletal remains have been uncovered in the search for a woman who has been missing for over six years. For the last three days, cops have been investigating the area around the former home of Tina Satchwell, who disappeared in March 2017.

A heavy garda presence has been in place at the property in Youghal, Co. Cork, since Tuesday, after the force received new information.

Heavy digging equipment was brought in to search the interior and exterior of the home.And at lunchtime today, it was confirmed that Assistant State Pathologist Dr Margot Bolster was expected to arrive at the scene shortly, after gardai discovered what are believed to be human bones last night, Cork Beo reports.The remains are understood to have been discovered inside the property following a search by a cadaver dog.

A full investigation involving the State Pathologist will now take place, with the remains being kept at the Grattan Street property while a full forensic survey is carried out.It is understood Tina's family have been informed about the discovery by a liaison officer.
