A former office in Wishaw town centre is to be converted into a flat after council planners gave the proposals the green light.

The site at 10 Stewarton Street is located on the first and second floor of a row of town centre properties. It was last used an office but has apparently been vacant for many years.The ground floor (formerly a bank) is not part of the application.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The North Lanarkshire Council planning report states: “Environmental Health have no objection subject to approval and implementation of suitable noise condition. “Although the site does not have dedicated parking area there is car parks available for parking which is considered suffice.“Minor alterations are proposed and are not considered to adversely affect the appearance of the building.”No letters of objection were received by the council for members of the public.Given the proposals the go ahead, the planners report adds: “It is considered that the proposed use of the premises as a residential flat is of a satisfactory use for a town centre and will not have a detrimental effect on the surrounding premises, other
