People with disabilities could be provided extra resources to allow them to work from home, according to the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
Work and Pensions Secretary Mel Stride said the new plans could see those with health conditions receive "the right support and opportunities" that would move them off benefits and enter the workforce.
He added that the government is considering changing the Work Capability Assessment which determines how a person's disability or illness affects their ability to work.
However, disability charities have warned that the changes could force people to work when they are not well or able enough.
