Spice Girl Mel B walked off ‘Today With Hoda & Jenna’ — here’s why

Spice Girls. The British pop star, 48, whose real name is Melanie Brown, playfully walked off “Today With Hoda & Jenna” Monday after saying perhaps too much about the iconic ’90s girl group’s upcoming plans. When co-host Jenna Bush Hager, 42, asked Brown if she could “just break the news” about the group’s rumored reunion, the pop star replied, “I can’t because I always get told off because I’m the blabbermouth.”Still, Brown continued, “You know, we are working — I think I said this to you before, us five are working on something that’s going to be announced soon,” she doubled down about her January appearance on the NBC talk show.

He’s bringing sensitive back: Justin Timberlake makes a smooth comeback with new single ‘Selfish’
“Selfish” — which dropped Thursday morning — finds the pop superstar getting in his falsetto feels over a smooth midtempo groove.“So if I get jealous, I can’t help it/I want every bit of you, I guess I’m selfish,” he sweetly croons in the chorus that proves that, even at 42, he still possesses some of that same boy-band charm that made us fall in love with him when he was a curly-haired teen heartthrob.Indeed, after Timberlake reunited with ’N Sync last fall for the “Trolls Band Together” bop “Better Place,” “Selfish” takes him back to the swoon-worthy sincerity of his boy-band days — long before he fell victim to cancel culture for his purported misdeeds with Janet Jackson (after their 2004 Super Bowl halftime performance) and ex Britney Spears. But while the song recaptures a kind of lost innocence, it also has some muted, moody beats — think Drake — and a hint of melancholy from an older soul.“Selfish” — which reteams Timberlake with longtime producer Timbaland, while bringing in new collaborators Louis Bell (Taylor Swift, Post Malone) and Cirkut (Maroon 5, The Weeknd) — is the first single from the singer’s upcoming sixth studio album, “Everything I Thought It Was,” due March 15.Timberlake also dropped the “Selfish” video, and like the song, it’s a more subtle, subdued affair than, say, “Filthy,” from his last LP, 2018’s “Man of the Woods.”It’s just Justin singing and vibing behind the scenes, proudly rocking the grays in his beard now.The clip — directed by Bradley J.

Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel and *NSYNC hit up ‘Trolls’ premiere after Britney Spears’ bombshell memoir
Hollywood strike. The 42-year-old pop star stepped out with his fellow *NSYNC bandmates — and wife, Jessica Biel — for the premiere of “Trolls Band Together” in LA Wednesday. The event was the first outing for Lance Bass, JC Chasez, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick to promote the flick since the strike ended earlier this month. The “Mirrors” singer, Kirkpatrick, 52, Chasez, 47, Fatone, 46, and Bass, 44, posed for photographs on the red carpet together at the TCL Chinese Theatre. The fivesome’s single “Better Place” is on the colorful animated movie’s soundtrack, which was announced one day after they made a surprise appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in September. Timberlake’s costars Anna Kendrick, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Eric André, Ron Funches, Camila Cabello and Zooey Deschanel were also in attendance at the event.Timberlake and Biel’s cozy appearance, meanwhile, is their first public appearance since the release of Britney Spears’ bombshell memoir “The Woman in Me.”The “Toxic” hitmaker, 41, dropped her book late last month and revealed a plethora of anecdotes about her past relationship with the Tennessee native.Among the stories she penned, Spears revealed she got an abortion at the age of 19, having the procedure because Timberlake didn’t want to be a father at the time.

*NSYNC takes you to a ‘Better Place’ on first single in 21 years: review
“Bye Bye Bye” to us as a recording act.But the wait for the boy band’s much-anticipated reunion is finally over with Friday’s release of “Better Place,” the group’s first single since 2002’s “Girlfriend.”And Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick sound just in sync as ever on this buoyant bop from the “Trolls Band Together” soundtrack, which indeed takes you to a “Better Place.”After a whistling intro — a hook that repeats throughout the song — it opens with what could be a statement about how they’re still better together after all these years: “It’s some kind of love, it’s some kind of fire/I’m already up, but you lift me higher.”While other members of the group sing lead in the verses, it’s Timberlake who owns the chorus with his familiar falsetto. And when he sings “I’m so excited to see you excited” over the bass-bumping disco groove, it’s as if he knows exactly how giddy this track is making *NSYNC fans all around the world.Timberlake, who also voices the character of Branch in “Trolls Band Together,” co-wrote and co-produced “Better Place” with Shellback, and the track is a satisfying sequel to their previous collaboration on the 2016 “Trolls” smash “Can’t Stop the Feeling!”Like it’s predecessor, it’s the perfect summer song — except it’s arriving at the beginning of fall. But there’s no denying the sunny pop sheen of “Better Place.” And though it feels more like a Timberlake song than an *NSYNC one, it’s not all about the “SexyBack” singer — as those creamy harmonies attest. The tune previews the “Trolls Band Together” soundtrack” — with Timberlake returning as executive music producer — which will be released on Oct.
