Dalbeattie Star boss Eddie Warwick is delighted with his side for keeping their 100 per cent start to life in the South intact.
The Islecroft outfit travelled to Stranraer and won 5-2 at the weekend to join Newton Stewart and Creetown at the top of the league with all three sides on nine points.
Warwick said: “We’ve had a couple of difficult away games to Stranraer and Abbey Vale and been able to come out of them with maximum points. “I believe people will go there and drop points because they’re hard places to go. “Considering the amount of time the group has been together, it’s very pleasing to have enough in our locker to win at those places. “Stranraer have lost a few experienced players but they’ve got some good, young players and in a few months they’ll take points off of people and it won’t be a comfortable place to go.” Ross Hunter began the frenzy of goals in the 19th minute as the away side hit the lead.
But three minutes later Martin McClorey equalised for Stranraer and he should have had a second but he missed a spot-kick just after the half-hour mark.
