As viewers of the ITV soap know, Joel isn't the squeaky clean solicitor they first thought when he arrived as Dee-Dee Bailey's love interest.
And as those watching also know, while the residents of Weatherfield do not, the solicitor is behind the disappearance of Lauren Bolton who was last seen on the street back in February.
It was revealed in flashback scenes aired last month that Roy Cropper, as everyone already knew, was innocent after he was charged with the suspected murder of the missing teen and that it was really Joel who was her 'secret boyfriend' and had something to do with her sudden disappearance.
