Coronation Street explains Michelle Connor's absence after Ryan's acid attack

A recent storyline has seen Michelle's son Ryan (Ryan Prescott) hospitalised after he stepped in the way when Justin Rutherford (Andrew Still) threw a glass of acid at Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) on the day of her wedding.
However fans shared the confusion at following episodes when Michelle made no return to the cobbles, despite her son's serious injuries and subsequent hospitalisation.
Michelle's absence was explained in Wednesday night's episode when Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) visited Ryan in hospital, telling him: "I'm sorry your mum can't be here." Ryan replied: "It's fine, don't want any visitors anyway, don't want people seeing my face," before turning away from her.The characters then revealed that Michelle had been unable to travel from Dublin to visit her son as she was "having an operation." Viewers were left rather unimpressed at this explanation, with a number sharing their disappointment on social media.Taking to Twitter, on wrote: "@msm4rsh you needed back in @itvcorrie hun!
