Ryan, played by Ryan Prescott, was left writhing in agony with excruciating burns which are set to prove life-changing for the previously happy-go-lucky barman.
Viewers of the ITV1 soap will see a completely different side to the character as he battles for physical and mental recovery from the attack.
Actor Ryan told how the storyline took him by surprise, saying: “Ian [Kershaw, writer] first called me when I was on holiday, I was sitting on a sunbed by the pool in Crete. “I didn’t really know what to expect, he said there was something big in the pipeline for Ryan.
