A couple from Wishaw still have a twinkle in their eyes for each other after 50 years of marriage.George and Ellen Philips celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary on Friday, having married at St Mark’s Church in Coltness on that date in 1973.Both lived locally and attended the same school; Wishaw High, George who is now 75 was a couple of years above Ellen who is 73.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
