Chris Packham has decided to take a break from being a TV presenter and go down a completely different route, and become an animal sculptor.

The Winterwatch star says that he cancelled all his TV work for three months to create abstract ­sculptures of birds, snakes and humpback whales, according to The Mirror.Despite the dramatic change, the 61-year-old insists that it is not due to having a midlife crisis but wants to get "off the treadmill" and feels a bit "burnt out" after decades of presenting.He told the Mirror: "I'm not going to buy a Ferrari and run off with a 20-year-old.""I've never taken three months off work.
