Over a century of school history ends in Lanarkshire village as schools set to move into new hub

Over a century of school history came to an end in one Lanarkshire village this afternoon. Pupils at Newmains Primary and St Brigid’s Primary Schools left their old buildings for the final time before the opening of the Newmains and St Brigid’s Community Hub which be home to both schools from Monday, February 20.

The Newmains Primary building is 110 years old while the St Brigid’s building has also been a firm fixture within the community for decades.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
