Mounds of rubbish has been left strewn across the streets of Glasgow after thousands of Hoops fans swarmed to celebrate Celtic's title party.Supporters descended on the city-centre after Celtic beat St Mirren 3-2 this afternoon, Saturday, May 18, as the champions were handed the league trophy in front of their jubilant fans. But a massive clean-up will now be required as pictures show the aftermath of the boisterous celebrations- as bottles and glass lie discarded over the street.
Honduran winger Luis Palma scored a late winner to clinch Celtic's third title in a row and kick off the party, before punters headed toward the Trongate area of the city.Thousands of fans were in the area, as green smoke hovered above the area, and flags were flown by jubilant fans decked out in green and white.
Some supporters were pictured climbing on top of buildings and traffic lights to get a better vantage of proceedings. However, as the party began to end it was apparent a massive clean up operation was required, with glass and debris strewn across the area.
Images show bottles, cans and carrier bags scattered across High Street and Glasgow Cross. Lines of punters can be seen in the background leaving the city-centre.
