Blossoms announce new album ‘Gary’ with uplifting title track

Blossoms have shared details of a new album, ‘Gary’, and dropped the summery title track. Find out more details below.Announced today (June 3), the forthcoming LP will mark the fifth studio album from the English indie rock group, and the long-awaited follow-up to 2022’s ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’.It is set to arrive on September 20, and produced by the frequent collaborator James Skelly of The Coral, alongside Jungle’s Josh-Lloyd Watson.

The latter also produced with the band on both ‘What Can I Say After I’m Sorry?’ and ‘Nightclub’.‘Gary’ will also see Tom Odden and co.

join forces with BRIT-nominated singer-songwriter CMAT, who has co-written two tracks, titled ‘I Like Your Look’ and ‘Why Do I Give You The Worst Of Me?’, on the album.To celebrate the album announcement, the group have shared the title track from the project, as well as the star-studded accompanying music video.The video follows on from the band’s previous visuals for ‘What Can I Say After I’m Sorry?’, and sees appearances from Rick Astley and Sean Dyche, who reprises his role from the former.“The video is directed by myself and my brother Ewan Ogden and it picks up where our last video left off.

The song is based on a true story I heard on the radio last year – Gary the eight-foot fibreglass Gorilla was stolen from Reynard Garden in Carluke, Scotland,” explained the frontman of the visuals.“We’ve recreated the story on screen with Rick Astley playing Andrew Scott, the owner of the garden centre, and the band stealing Gary.
