Al-Ittihad boss Nuno Espirito Santo has reportedly been blamed for the misstep that saw the Saudi champions bring Jota to the club before quickly freezing him out.The Saudi report comes with Celtic being told to make an approach to the winger - who looks set to have his contract ripped up just months after a mega-money move to the Middle East from the Scottish Premiership.
In July Ittihad paid out a massive £25million to bring the Portuguese to the Saudi Pro League but he has been cut from the squad list as the the club filled their foreign player quota for the upcoming campaign.
League rules state that only eight overseas players are allowed per squad and the late arrival of late window arrival of Luiz Felipe pushed the club over the threshold - sparking an internal investigation to find who should be named the fall guy for the deal.
Koura report that former Tottenham and Wolves boss is being blamed by club higher-up after he "forced" the club to sign the player and refused to loan him before the end of the window.
