A Place in the Sun's Jasmine Harman broke down in tears on This Morning today as she discussed her mum's difficult mental health condition.

The TV presenter opened up to hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O'Leary about how her mum Vasoulla suffers from hoarding disorder.

Vasoulla recalled her childhood on the ITV show and how her behaviour started when she was just six years old. She now sees a therapist for her hoarding. The challenging condition is described by the World Health Organisation as the 'accumulation of possessions due to excessive acquisition of, or difficulty discarding possessions, regardless of their actual value.' Jasmine grew emotional as she discussed her loving relationship with her mum and how she focuses on their strong bond, rather than her hoarding struggles.

She said: "What I have learned over the years is that I concentrate more on having a loving relationship with my mum and not focusing on the hoarding." Her voice started to crack as she burst into tears, with Alison saying: "Yeah, and that's what's so beautiful." As Jasmine continued to sob, Alison said: "And she's not a bad person because she hoards." The tearful presenter nodded her head, saying: "I am so grateful to her because she has helped me to become a much more compassionate person." "We used to fight, didn't we?" she said turning to her mum. "We used to argue about it all the time, but now we have a relationship outside that isn't focused on the hoarding." Fans of the show were quick to praise Jasmine for raising awareness about the condition, with one person saying: "Well done Jasmine, to you and your mum, for talking about this on This Morning.
