Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice has been supported by close friend and former dance partner Rose-Ayling Ellis after it was announced his partner for the 2023 series Amanda Abbington quit the show.Her "sad" decision to leave the BBC competition meant her partner Giovanni was also forced to pull out from his place in the competition, despite the pair being tipped to go far among the other celebrities.Eyebrows have since been raised following the acting star's exit which was announced on Monday, shortly after they missed Saturday's live show due to Amanda being ruled out on medical grounds.

Giovanni posted a touching tribute to his partner adding that he was "so sad" their Strictly journey had come to an end, meanwhile Amanda in stark contrast never even mentioned him in her farewell post and opted for a photo of her dancing shoes instead.Rose then reached out and showed her support for her former Strictly Come Dancing professional partner by liking the post in a show of solidarity, the Mirror reports.Rose and Giovanni formed an incredibly close bond when they lifted the Glitterball trophy in 2021.

The EastEnders star made history as the first deaf contestant to compete in the show and was showered in praise by the judges and the audience.Their friendship also continued off-screen, with Giovanni even being inspired by Rose to learn British Sign Language as they reunited last year to raise awareness for those suffering from mental health showcasing their unbreakable bond.
