This is the shocking moment a hooded thing firebombed a van parked outside a family home in Fife.Police have launched a probe into the blaze after the man was caught setting the vehicle alight on Keltyhill Crescent in Kelty, at around 1am on Wednesday.CCTV footage taken from security cameras at the owner's home shows a hooded figure walking past the van and appearing to try to open the passenger-side door.Unable to gain entry, they can then be seen walking around to the driver's side door.

Seconds later the van bursts into flames and the lout runs off out of view.Furious tradesman Roy Grieves, who owns the vehicle, said he was woken in his bed by a loud explosion.

The 49-year-old told the Record: "We were woken up by a loud bang. My partner looked out the window and told me my van was on fire."I thought she was joking and then I looked outside and saw the flames."I ran to the back of the house and got a hose and doused the fire until the fire brigade got there.

The crew arrived just in time as I was losing the fight. "I couldn't believe it when I looked at the CCTV footage and saw that scumbag loitering about outside."I had kitted the van out with solar panels as I use it for various things including camping trips with the dog. "I'm absolutely devastated that someone would do this."Police confirmed they are treating the fire as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing.A spokesperson for the force said: “We were made aware of a van set on fire at Keltyhill Crescent in Kelty around 1.05am on Wednesday, August 23.“The fire is being treated as deliberate and enquiries are ongoing.
