CCTV shows bully dog shot dead after attack 'happy and begging for treats' moments before turning on men

A bully dog shot dead by police after it launched a savage attack on two men was "happy and begging for treats" moments before it turned.

The dog, called Zeus, can be seen in CCTV footage shared exclusively with the Record as he enters a local shop with his owner.

In the clip, Zeus is shown wagging his tail and jumping up to the counter before he is fed a biscuit. His owner - named locally as William Hunter - is also seen patting the dog's head.

The video, taken just before 5pm Tuesday, was captured just minutes before Zeus mauled Hunter and another man on two separate Hamilton streets.
