Angelique Jackson If you’re looking to get your daily dose of Sydney Sweeney movies this Valentine’s Day, look no further than your local multiplex — the star just swung into theaters with “Madame Web” and a special re-release of “Anyone but You.” Since its holidays debut, the R-rated rom-com starring Sweeney and Glen Powell has raked in more than $170 million worldwide and continues its theatrical run with “The Valentine’s Encore.” “I just want to thank everybody for loving it as much as we enjoyed making it,” Sweeney said at the “Madame Web” premiere on Monday night. “People want to have something that brings everyone together and they can laugh and they can cry, and they can sing and dance and just have that community shared feeling of enjoyment.

It’s been overwhelmingly incredible.” The special edition re-release is billed to include four minutes of bonus footage. “We added a few little things here and there for people if they want to come back and see some secret stuff,” Sweeney teased, adding, “It’s the perfect double feature.” In Sony and Marvel’s “Madame Web,” Sweeney plays Julia Carpenter, one of a trio of teenagers (Isabela Merced and Celeste O’Connor) destined to become superheroines — that is, if Dakota Johnson’s Cassandra Web, a paramedic who discovers she’s clairvoyant, can keep them safe as they’re being hunted by a deadly adversary.

The S.J. Clarkson-directed film is projected to generate $22 million to $25 million over President’s Day weekend. At the premiere, Sweeney also shared her hope that audiences, especially young women, will lean into its empowering message. “You can choose your friends and family; you can be empowered without supernatural powers; and you can do anything you set your mind to,”.
