Care home worker sexually abused teen girl he was supposed to be looking after
manchestereveningnews.co.ukA care home worker who sexually abused a teenage girl living there has been jailed. The Crown Prosecution Service said Shaun Vincent, 36, 'abused the trust placed in him in the worst way by committing sickening sexual offences against a teenager'.
It's understood the girl was 16 years-old at the time, and Vincent ignored her desperate pleas for him to stop. Vincent, said the CPS, 'made unwanted sexual advances' towards her then committed sexual offences against her at the care home, which hasn't been named. READ MORE: 'We want people to stay away from him because he’s a very, very dangerous man' At Bolton Crown Court on Monday, he was jailed for 21 months and made the subject of a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
A restraining order was also passed. The CPS said Vincent, from the Wigan area of Greater Manchester, pleaded guilty to seven counts of sexual activity with a child by a person in a position of trust and two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity by a person in a position of trust.
The offences took place over December, 2023. A spokesperson said in statement: "Vincent admitted some lesser offences, but denied the more serious sexual offences until the day of trial, when, having seen the strength of the case against him, he pleaded guilty to the other seven offences. "Knowing the teenager was unable to consent, Vincent still made unwanted sexual advances, using sexual language and committing sexual offences against her. "Following his arrest, he continued to contact the teenager in breach of his police bail conditions so was brought swiftly before the court in custody and has remained in custody since charge."
