A championship golf course plans to demolish its clubhouse to make way for 12 luxury homes. The Bolton Old Links course on Chorley Old Road would use the funds generated from building the houses to fund a new, more modern clubhouse on the current overspill car park and higher ground above it.

The ‘Old Links’, north of Bolton, is set in west Pennine moorland and boasts spectacular views. It is home to the PGA Lancashire Open.

A two part proposal for redevelopment of existing club house for 12 detached houses and new clubhouse adjacent the course is set to go before Bolton’s planning committee this week.

Both the sites for development are in the green belt.
