Brewery's cheeky dig at Fred Done's controversial 'Shudehill Shard' skyscraper which towers over historic city centre pub

A brewery has taken a cheeky dig at a new skyscraper which dwarfs a 280-year-old city centre pub. The controversial 16-storey glass tower has been developed by billionaire bookie Fred Done's construction firm Salboy.

The 'Shudehill Shard', as the building's been dubbed, stands right next to the historic Lower Turk's Head opposite Shudehill bus station.

Photographer Carl Thompson tweeted a picture of the development alongside the Sesame Street lyrics 'One of these things is not like the others.
