Carol Vorderman has called out Jeremy Clarkson for having "a go at a woman again". The former Countdown star, 62, who has just been confirmed as starring in an all-star version of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, called out the controversial television presenter after his latest newspaper column took aim at her.

In the piece, Jeremy branded Carol "awfully shouty", titling it: "Me thinks Carol doth protest too much." He also wrote that Carol has reinvented herself as an "anti-Tory, anti-sleaze warrior".

Jeremy was referring to Carol's recent appearance at a meeting of the Women and Equalities Select Committee. During the meeting she spoke about the needs for menopausal women, criticising the Minister for Women's Health, Maria Caulfield, for "not bothering to turn up" when she didn't attend the meeting.

In his column in The Sun, Jeremy wrote: "In recent weeks, Carol Vorderman seems to have reinvented herself as a sort of anti-Tory, anti-sleaze warrior." He continued: "Having not got her way in a debate about the menopause this week, she said she had been 'absolutely disgusted' by the attitude of two lady MPs. "That's a bit strong, because if you're 'absolutely disgusted' by someone who disagrees with you about the menopause, then how do you describe your feelings towards a Russian soldier who's just lobbed a hand grenade into a school? "Surely, that would be 'absolutely disgusting'.
