New Order have announced a one-off show in Los Angeles, with Blossoms to support.The band will be performing at the 6,000-capacity YouTube Theater in the city on November 15, which is a warm-up show ahead of the band’s appearance at Darker Waves Festival in Huntington Beach on November 18. It’s the follow up to 2022’s ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb,’ their last with Virgin EMI.Frontman Tom Ogden spoke to BBC 6 Music’s Nathan Shepherd about the new album and opened up about the number of collaborations on the record.“This album…it’s the most we’ve kind of spread our wings in terms of collaboration,” he told Shepherd.Ogden continued: “I’ve wrote the songs, brought it to the lads and then we’ve gone in with [James] Skelly [producer] in Liverpool.

Sam Ryder and Bloc Party have been added to the list of artists joining Music Venue Trust’s United By Music UK tours.Organised by The National Lottery and Music Venue Trust, the tour sees over 150 gigs visit over 130 venues across the UK, in support of the grassroots music sector.Now, adding to the already extensive list of musicians taking part, English alt-rock band Bloc Party have been added to the bill, as well as former Eurovision sensation Sam Ryder. The former will be performing next month, taking to the stage at The Hairy Dog venue in Derby on July 20, while Ryder will be headed to Southend on September 8 for a show at Chinnerys.Other previously announced artists taking part in the one-off shows around the UK include Cat Burns, Blossoms, Witch Fever, Hamish Hawk and Metronomy.“These are the venues where myself and so many of my pals started at and still play.

Blossoms have scored their third UK Number One album with ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’, it has been confirmed.The Stockport band’s latest record follows their previous full-length releases, 2016’s ‘Blossoms’ and 2020’s ‘Foolish Loving Spaces’, in topping the Official UK Album Chart.As well as hitting the top spot on the main album chart, the new album has also claimed the Number One position on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart. Physical formats accounted for 90 per cent of ‘Ribbon Around The Bomb’’s total sales, the Official Charts Company has revealed.“It’s happened again! Ribbon Around the Bomb is the Official UK Number 1 album this week – [our] third time,” the band told OfficialCharts.com.

Blossoms’ gig in Stockport last night (May 3) was interrupted by a fire alarm, causing the venue to be temporarily evacuated.The band were due to play a hometown show at the Stockport Plaza after premiering their Ribbon Around The Bomb film, which is accompanying their new album of the same name.Before the band went on stage, however, the Plaza’s fire alarm went off, forcing an evacuation of the audience.Speaking to the Manchester Evening News, one audience member said: “Blossoms weren’t on yet.
