BBC Strictly Come Dancing star quits hours before live show
ok.co.ukStrictly Come Dancing star Nigel Harman and his professional dance partner Katya Jones won't be performing tonight and have left the show on medical grounds.The dancing duo were expected to perform a Charleston to Step in Time from Disney's Mary Poppins for the exciting live quarter final.
A BBC spokesperson said: “Unfortunately Nigel has sustained a rib injury which means he is unable to perform in tonight’s show and has had to withdraw from Strictly.” The show also spoke out on their official Instagram page and said: "Unfortunately, Nigel Harman and Katya Jones have had to withdraw from the competition.
We wish Nigel a speedy recovery and they both will be very much missed by our entire Strictly family". Nigel's Strictly co-stars shared their disappointment, with professional dancer Jowita Przystał commenting a crying face and heart emoji.
Nancy Xu Xi shared a string of broken hearts, while Gorka Marquez simply commented with two crying face emojis. Fans were also gutted to hear the news as one said: "Such a real shame your was my favourite just heard you have withdrawn from competition due to injury all the best for the future wish you speedy recovery #StrictlyComeDancing @bbcstrictly it will not be the same without you".
