Today staff at Asda in Trafford Park were telling arriving customers the store was closed until further notice because of yesterday's storm.

Shopping trolleys were placed across the entrance to prevent shoppers entering. A spokesperson for Asda said: "Following extreme weather experienced in the local area, our Trafford Park store remains closed whilst we carry out essential repairs.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and we are working hard to reopen the store as soon as possible." Shoppers at B&M in Burnage experienced a similar problem when more footage captured rainwater falling onto the tills as customers watched.
