Ange Postecoglou insists getting the Champions League 'golden ticket' won't mean much unless Tottenham can improve year on year.The former Celtic boss faces a big English Premier League clash with Aston Villa - currently sitting fourth - as both clubs bid to break into the top four and book a spot at Europe's top table next term.
Even finishing fifth might be enough for a spot alongside Europe's elite but Postecoglou insists it is MORE important to have a strong team ready to compete and keep moving forward.
Without naming names he hinted at examples of clubs that had a good season last campaign and reached the top competition - but have not kicked on from that and done better this term.He said: "There are a couple of teams who got into the Champions League this year from last year, had a good season.
Does that guarantee anything the following season? No. What's more important is that come the end of this year, we've got a team that's going to challenge the following year and keep growing.
