Take, for example, Seann William Scott — the thespian who played Steve Stifler in the American Pie films. In a resurfaced Rick Eisen Show interview that’s recently gone viral amid the Screen Actors Guild and Writers Guild of America strikes, the 46-year-old actor said he was paid a wildly small amount for the film that grossed over $235 MILLION. Holy s**t. American Pie was one of the highest-grossing and most popular films of 1999. It was a cultural phenomenon! With its original budget of $11 million, it garnered a $243 million profit — there’s no reason one of the most beloved characters of the film should’ve had to take up work at the Los Angeles Zoo to make ends meet!
He continued on to say he worked at the LA Zoo “waiting for the movie to come out,” but also had another “odd job” before then.
