Amad has picked up an injury which will rule him out of the start of the season. The 21-year-old returned to Old Trafford over the summer following an impressive spell in the Championship with Sunderland.
It raised questions as to where he would be playing his football in the 2023/24 campaign and whether Erik ten Hag would give him a chance in United's first team.
But the Ivory Coast winger picked up an injury during the club's pre-season tour of the USA. He has been ruled out for the start of the campaign and it remains to be seen whether he returns as part of the fold at United or moves again on loan, depending on his recovery time.
