AJ McLean is celebrating two years of sobriety, and he’s speaking out about his journey. The 45-year-old Backstreet Boys singer recently got candid about his choice to become sober and how he has navigated the process. AJ also revealed that he spent 10 weeks at an intensive outpatient program for mental health in Arizona following the conclusion of the Backstreet Boys’ DNA World Tour in May. “I knew I had a window of time, so I said, ‘you know what?
I need to do some inner work. The sobriety thing is good. I need to go back and do some digging.’ Ten weeks for the rest of my life, I am super grateful for it,” he told the outlet. “It was totally worth it.’” Earlier this year, AJ McLean spoke about how he helped the late Aaron Carter enter rehab.
