Air ambulance lands and church taped off as man found injured after reports of stabbing

An air ambulance was scrambled to the scene of a reported stabbing in Bolton on Thursday afternoon (August 1). Police and paramedics were called to the incident on Church Road, Kearsley at around 3.30pm.

The churchyard at the St John the Evangelist Church was taped off after the victim was found injured. Police remained on the scene throughout the afternoon amid investigations as the air ambulance landed nearby.

Greater Manchester Police said a man is now receiving treatment for his injuries and that detectives have launched an investigation into the horror attack. Any witnesses are being urged to come forward. A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 3:30pm this afternoon our officers were called to Church Road in Bolton to reports of a stabbing. "A man was found at the scene with injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
