More details have emerged about the swimming incident that sent Zac Efron to the hospital over the weekend.

The 36-year-old actor was rushed to the hospital in Ibiza, Spain while on vacation for what was initially described as a “minor swimming incident.” Now, we’re learning a bit more. Keep reading to find out more… According to TMZ, Zac dove into the pool at a villa in Ibiza where he was staying.

He ended up reportedly hitting the bottom of the pool and ingesting some pool water as a result. The source shared that he “ingested a large amount of water into his lungs when his chest hit the bottom of the pool on the dive … and he showed signs of distress and onsite security helped him out of the water.” Afterwards, he was “momentarily dazed” and was taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution.

He was reportedly given a chest X-ray to ensure the water was not still in his lungs and was released afterwards, but he apparently stayed at the hospital for a bit to avoid photographers. Zac ended up breaking his silence and showing fans he was doing alright the very next day.
