Woman, 70, charged with causing death of eight-month-old outside hospital

A 70-year-old woman has been charged with causing the death of an eight-month-old baby, after she was struck by a car. Bridget Carole Curtis has been charged with causing the death of Mabli Cariad Hall by driving dangerously outside a hospital in Wales on June 21, 2023, reports Wales Online.Baby Mabli was flown to hospital in Cardiff.

She was then transferred to Bristol Royal Hospital for Children but later died from her injuries.The tot was one of the three injured after a car collided with pedestrians outside the hospital in Haverfordwest.

Bridget will appear at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, August 22.Mabli's family have issued a poignant statement after the woman was charged.Thanking Dyfed-Powys police for all their support, they said the last year had been the "most horrendous time of our lives".

They said: "As a family we wish to thank Dyfed-Powys Police for their diligence and professionalism over the last year and for how they have explained each step to us on our very difficult journey.
